In October 2011, Pastor Tim and Nadine Rust founded Destiny Church in a home with a God-given dream — to build a church filled with heartfelt praise and worship that touches heaven and changes earth. Their vision was for a church completely dependent on the Holy Spirit — unstoppable, unified, prayerful, and overflowing with God’s presence. They longed for a place where people could sense the Holy Spirit even as they drove by or walked through the doors.
As the congregation quickly grew beyond the home, Destiny Church began meeting at the Border’s Hotel. Soon, members felt the need for a dedicated space to gather, worship, and serve the community. In 2012, a coffee shop was purchased and transformed into Destiny’s first dedicated meeting place.
Continued growth led to a season of gathering at the YWCA, until God opened the door for a permanent home. On October 31, 2016, Destiny purchased a former mechanic shop. With the help of faithful volunteers, the building was renovated and completed by March 2017.
Destiny Church held its first official service on April 16, 2017, at its current location — 4306 W Highway 30, Grand Island, Nebraska. Since then, Destiny has continued to grow as a Spirit-led church where lives are transformed, families are restored, and God’s presence is felt in every service.

Beliefs
At Destiny Church, we believe in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and transform lives. As an affiliate of the Assemblies of God, we stand firmly on the truth of God’s Word — the Bible — as our ultimate authority in faith and practice.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the only way to eternal life. We believe in salvation through grace, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the importance of prayer, and living a life that reflects Christ’s love and character.
Our desire is to see every believer grow in their relationship with God, be empowered by the Holy Spirit, and live out their God-given purpose to impact the world for His Kingdom.

At Destiny Church, our mission is simple: Loving God and Pursuing Purpose. We exist to help people discover and fulfill their God-given destiny. Everything we do—from worship and teaching to outreach and service—is centered on leading people closer to God and empowering them to live out their divine purpose.

Destiny Church seeks to be a welcoming and compassionate community where everyone is treated with love, dignity, and acceptance. We want to be a place where people find hope, healing, and belonging. Through caring community groups, we aim to build relationships that encourage discipleship, accountability, and friendship—spreading revival across Grand Island and beyond.
We are devoted to discipleship and leadership development, equipping believers to grow in faith and empowering leaders to serve with excellence. We support need-based programs that meet practical needs and strengthen our community, and we envision a personal growth facility that nurtures spiritual, emotional, and relational health.
