1) Belong by birth and become by transformation

We represent Jesus to the unbeliever by showing God’s love

Proverbs 16:16 – Through love & truth iniquity is purged from a life

Don’t sacrifice love for truth or sacrifice truth for love, you need a balance of both

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 Jesus makes us a new person, righteousness of God in Christ

2) Becoming process transforms our lives, it happens in the heart and expressed with words & behavior

Can’t live the life of Christ without the mind of Christ – Romans 12:2

Matthew 3:8 Fruit of repentance is changed behavior

The Discipleship process includes belonging & becoming

Discipleship maker is an ordinary person who plants themselves in a network of relationships to expand God’s family

Spiritual growth happens through relationships
