NOTES: James 2. Three concerns about showing favortism:

1. It is inconistant with God’s nature. Romans 2:5-11 and Acts 10:34-35.

2. It is inconsiderate of others. Philillians 2:3

3. It is incompatable with the law of love. Galatians 5:14 and Matthew 22:37-40. God values all people, we don’t devalue what God values.

Warning against two things: Verse 10.

1. Selective obedience. Obey only part of God’s word.

2. Relative Innocence. Faith without corresponding action is

dead.

Faith is information and corresponding action. Faith is belief and corresponding action linked together.

Two examples of faith:

1. Abraham

2. Rahab

By our fruit we will be known. We are not saved by works but a saved life has good works.

Dueteronomy 6:1-9
